SAMURAI KARATE INTERNATIONAL
Shihan Paul
Mitchell Hanshi–
the international chief instructor of Samurai
Karate – began his karate career in
the Kyokushin
style. In 1967 he traveled to Japan to
train under Sensei Oyama before being drawn to
Shukokai and Sensei Kimura in
1970. In 1974,
Sensei Kimura granted him permission to train
with Sensei Tani at the Shukokai World
Headquarters where he eventually became the only
westerner to be graded to Shihan by
Tani Sensei.
Melbourne,1979, Sensei Paul established the
Australian Shukokai Karate Association with
the late Sensei Alan Murdoch, at
the same time founding
Samurai Karate
International. In 2008, Samurai Karate
is an international organisation with
established dojo’s throughout Australia, Europe,
and the United Kingdom, all of which Sensei Paul
continues to frequent at every
opportunity.
Sensei Darren Olsen ( 6th
Dan) from Victoria is the Australian Chief
Instructor for Samurai Karate International.
Sensei Rocky Simmons (5th Dan) is the Queensland
State Chief Instructor and has operated his
Eight Mile Plains dojo
(QLD
headquarters)
for over a decade.
